I have a few extra air cleaners so I decided to find out what it would take to disassemble one. The soldered connection came apart easy with a mapp torch.The screen is different mesh size near the top. This fine mesh was rusted and crumbeled like crackers. The next one was not so bad but I will never put an old air cleaner on a new engine without inspecting the inside. Just passing along my expierience.
