Hello, I own a 1976 Case 222Lawn Tractor that was given to me as a family hand me down. It is in great shape and only needed a few minor repairs to make it run strong. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, while giving my lawn a final cut, it stopped moving. Here's the time line.
-Started right up
-Ran strong for about 45 minutes
-Motor started to labor and the tractors speed slowed dramatically.
-After about 5 minutes the tractor came to a stop with the motor still running.
-I shut the motor down a few seconds after the tractor stopped moving
-When I tried to restart the motor the starter turned but the belt was slipping around the pulley. I tried to turn the motor over by hand but it wouldn't budge.
-Put the tractor in neutral and tried to push it to my garage. Tractor did not want to move. Wheels seemed to be locked
-After some time I was able to push the tractor to the garage.
-Noticed that Hydraulic fluid was pouring out of the hole in the top of the hydraulic fluid fill cap
Oil level was ok.
Any thoughts? I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

It was on his farm that I learned to use the combination hand clutch and brake on a John D
