Detroit had a 4-53T engine with a by-pass blower on it. The whole purpose of the by-pass valve was to send a higher boost pressure by the rotors into the air box. This set up would solve all your concerns on rotor damage, because under a full boost situation, the turbo is packing all the air in the air box, not the blower. A lot of the log skidders ran a 4-53T engine, so you should be able to find you a good blower, all other hook ups are the same. Hope this info helps you.
