It is 28 hours after the tragic events of yesterday and I find it amazing how I can be sad, angry, and numb all at once. I think everyone here has posted some good food for thought. My emotions about this deal still cloud my thinking with regard to the situation but I still keep coming back to the facts as some have you have already clearly laid out--This is NOT a gun control issue, it is a multiple layer issue. Its an issue about the breakdown of the family and support system for each every person who has ever committed a crime like this. It is an issue about our culture where video games glorify and desensitize kids to the true graphic nature of war, gun violence, and crimes against our fellow man. It is a shame that people make money by creating means for impressionable young people to become indifferent to life and basically celebrate all that is wrong with our culture. It's also an issue where our God, our elders, and our fellow human beings have lost the love and respect that they deserve, and in turn a loss of respect for life itself. Had these factors been nurtured and built up in each and every person who had committed a crime like this, we wouldn't be discussing this today.

My prayers go out to the families and community affected and I applaud and honor those men and women who protected those that survived. Many of you know I don't have kids, but I have a couple nephews and niece that I know I will hug a little more than I used to, I cannot imagine them being in a situation like this or losing them in this way. May God's Blessings and Love be upon them all.

Today's Featured Article - Farmall 460: That's My Girl - by LeAnn R. Ralph. How many sounds can you think of that are as familiar to you as your own breathing? What about the hum of your refrigerator? Or the thump of your clothes dryer? Maybe the engine of your car? You hear those sounds every day, and you don't think much about them, do you. I can think of a few common, ordinary sounds in my daily life, too. ... [Read Article]
