Keep the rack parallel to the axel, if you look at it from the top the center af the axel to the center of the rack should be 31/2-4". This measurement makes it steer pretty sharp,if you move the rack farther from the axel it takes a 20 acre field to turn around in. Shorten up the steering arms on the axel to match this measurement. On the allis you can position the rack so that the stock steering shaft can be used with only one universal joint connected at the rack and an adapter or sleeve to connect it to your shaft.
