Your engine will run a lot cooler on methanol which is another advantage but keep in mind that you can't normally carry more than about 5 gallons of methanol and it is usually purchased at the track. You also need to have firefighters experienced with alcohol fires at the track because methanol fires do not show a flame. I think you also need to use a fuel cell and not just the gas tank.
