I am open to any suggestions. I am going to build an 880 Oliver motor over this winter. I know a little of what to do, but unfortunately I am on a budget (I know that budget and tractor pulling dont go in the same sentence). I called murphys today, and he told me 600-700 for custom pistons and 1500 for the sleeves. That is more money than I want to spend considering all of the work that is left to be done. I was considering stroking the crank to 77 rods and doing some head and cam work. Can anyone offer some cost effective methods to gain horsepower out of this motor, or places to purchase parts at a reasonable rate? The classes that I have available are 3 and 6 mph, and a very limited amount of non-speed limited classes. I am looking to still pull in the 3 mph class occasionally, but also looking to move up to the 6. Thank you in advance for any help you have to offer!!!
