I am not familiar with Smart Strip but I use regular paint stripper and a hot water pressure washer. That combination will cut through the paint, the hard grease and any oily film out of every nook and cranny. The hot water really helps remove all of the oily residue using a lot less chemicals. Another benefit of using the hot water washer is that the water evaporates faster causing less surface rust when it drys. You can rent the hot water washers for a half day which is plenty of time to clean a tractor or a regular pressure washer would be the next best option.
