A lot depends on the color you paint with using an alkyd. If the color has red in it it will fade fast regardless of brand. I painted a trailer with a Sherwin Williams alkyd in 2009 and except for damage places looks just as good as the day I painted it but it was a light gray. I also repainted a hood on a kubota tractor about the same time with valspar alkyd enamel and the paint is still there but it is chalky and badly faded. I've never used the Majic brand paint but everything I read says it's about the same stuff as the valspar brand. Sherwin Williams makes an enamel called Sher-Kem that is suppose to be a midrange paint between an alkyd and automotive paint. To get the full advantage though it needs the hardener which you really need a air supplied respirator to spray. It contains isocyanites.
