Satoh was bough out by Mitsubushi. The Case International compacts from the 1980's are basically the same tractor. Some Case IH dealers carry parts for the tractors.

The Satoh 650 would have been built in the 70's. They were built by Mitsibshi. Part can be obtained from Hayward Distributing Company, 614-272-5953.

carb is Stromberg model 210028-062

Tim, I have the same tractor and the plate you speak of was on mine as well. My manual doesn't actually make reference to it, but, as a WAG I would have to believe it is in there for valve to piston clearance. My manual has the torque at 47-51 ft/lbs. Valve clearance is .010 inch. for both intake and exhaust. Hope this helps.
