Sorry I'm kind of late answering this, but here goes. Engine oil takes 9 quarts(with the filter). I usually use either 15-40 Rotella T or straight SAE 30 weight oil. Other than the engine, there are three other places for oil. The three speed takes about 4 quarts of Dextron II or Dextron III ATF. I would also recommend changing the spin on filter. The transmission/ rear end fluid has a filler cap located right on the deck of tractor between your feet if you sitting on the seat. There is no dipstick because there is a check plug on the side of the tractor. You just keep adding 80-90W oil until it comes out the fill plug. There is a spin on filter for the transmission/rear end located underneath the platform near the rear axle on the left side of the tractor. Its kind of a bugger to get at. The hydraulic reservoir is what your sitting on. Just in front of the seat there will be a cap with a dipstick. If the reservoir was empty it would take 5 gallons of hydraulic oil to fill it. The filter for the hydraulic reservoir is right at the front of the reservoir. It is like a big acorn shaped deal with a large nut on the end. Just take a big cresent wrench and unscrew it, the filter is inside. Sorry for being so long winded. Hope this helps.

Today's Featured Article - Madison's County - by Anthony West. Philip Madison has been a good friend of mine for quite some time. He has patiently suffered my incessant chit chat on the subject of tractors for longer than I care to remember, and on many occasions he has put himself out, dropped what ever it was he was doing, to come and lend a hand cranking handles, or loading a find onto a trailer. Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects. ... [Read Article]
