On the first fuel filter the line going out of the filter to the second check that fitting. All it is is a rubber grommet that seals around the line with a brass nut to snug it up to the filter housing. If its old and coming apart it will suck air and wont let the engine start. I had the same problem with my 1550 diesel this spring and thought my pump was bad. It turned out to be that little rubber grommet. I replaced mine with a hose barb fitting and a short piece of fuel hose and it has run this good in several years. Also keep more than a half a tank of fuel in at all times, It really helps with the gravity feed system in the 1550. I hope this helps you out. Bandit
