Details of the accident are not totally clear, but this is what we do know. John was out checking snowmobile trails and cutting brush on Friday afternoon, before the snow started. He was in his Polaris Ranger, and crossing a snowmobile bridge over a creek, when either the bridge gave way, a couple of boards broke, or his Ranger slid, and went over the side of the bridge, landing on the ice about 15 feet below. The Ranger landed partially on top of him. He passed away at the scene. If anyone is interested, the visitation is Tuesday 12/17 from 5-8 pm, and the funeral is Wednesday 12/18 at 10 am, at Watson Funeral Home in Galesburg. The funeral home is located on North Seminary St, just south of Rt 34. On behalf of all of the family, we appreciate your prayers and your support.
