AFAIK, no one aftermarket makes a hydraulic filter for the S55 or 550 with the cast iron filter housing. Local NAPA carries Baldwin and they could not come up with the right one. Catalog listings lead to the one he got or a shorter one with metal ends. The factory filter is just an element with no ends, similar to a toilet paper tube except smaller. I would be interested in your Baldwin number to see if it is right, got to be a much cheaper alternative if it is true.
