J. is referring to two poppets one is behind the plug on the back of the valve that has the flow control screw in it the other is on the front side of the valve just below the valve the lever hooks to. both can be removed with the valve on the tractor there will be a spring and a poppet inside each one. the seat these poppets seat on have an o-ring on them also they can be removed by hooking them with a piece of wire with a hook on it. The early 55 series used a smaller poppet then the later ones. you will need to drain the hydraulics before you get into it.
