You know I woke up last nite thinking of this and thought the shift mechanism could be the issue, because 6th and R2 are the extreme end of the shift toward the front of tractor. When I picked up the tractor both gears engaged for a little while then started grinding again. Not ever being inside one of these transmissions, I"m trying to puzzle out the way it works by looking at one of Jensales service and parts manual.
