I always leave auto parts stores with a smile on my face because car parts are almost always ridiculously cheap compared to the ag parts I'm used to buying. A good working relationship with a reliable shop and maybe a machinist or three (sometimes it's cheaper to have items custom fabricated than it is to buy parts)is absolutely invaluble. $45/hr is on the high side, but is not unreasonable. 16 hours sounds like a lot, but I have no experience with this model (I'd like to, though, a S55's been on my wish list for a long time). Who knows what they ran into putting the thing back together again. R&Ring the loader yourself would have saved you a couple of shop hours.
