"oil begins to look light chocolate brown" Not good. Sounds like you have coolant in the oil. That's a crack in the block between the water jacket and the oil cavity. This is not normally a problem for a dry sleeve N. It is common to a wet sleeve engine. I'd have an oil sample tested to see if there is coolant in the oil. If so, block will have to be magna-fluxed to find problem(s). Maybe repair, maybe replace. If antifreeze in oil, also will need to turn crank and replace bearings. John.CO
