Bill......you ask......."Does the cleaner erode or damage the aluminum?" READ the frickin' instruction on the OUTSIDE of the can. It sez "NO ALUMINUM". Yes it CORRODES and EATS aluminum. As to whether there is aluminum in the 8N's M/S carb, I think the carb tab is aluminum. Why take chances??? Ennythang else, check with MAGNET, aluminum and brass are NON-MAGNETIC. Simple, eh?
As fer removing the BRASS JETS, how do you expect the cleaner to clean BEHIND the brass jets??? Iff'n the cleaner was a MOVING fluid, it would semi-clean behind the brass jets. That is also WHY I recommend hollowground gunsmithing screwdrivers. Typical screwdrivers are "wedge" shaped and hogg out the soft brass screw slots. Gunsmithing screwdrivers blades are parallel and fit the soft brass jets so you can remove them. Iff'n they don't remove easily, BOIL yer castiron carb body in HOT water. (seriously) The coefficient of metal expansion is different between castiron and brass. Therefore the screws become eazier to remove. ........HTH, Dell

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
