The front axle on my 9N moved forward and backward up and down and the steering wheel kicked it could only be drove at slow speed. I called the old man that runs the small tractor repair shop near Eddyville Ky. and asked him if he could fix it. In his normal slow words he said it might cost a little bring it to me. I loaded the 9n went to his shop to see he was busy. He came out and looked and said you need to unload it. I got it unloaded and asked him when I could expect it back? He said if you can wait or come back about 3 hours. He stopped what he was doing and put the 9n in the shop. Took off the hood radiator, Then jacked the tractor up pulled the front axle pin lowered the axle took off the front mount, took it to the drill press drilled 4 holes took 2 large flat washer drilled them to match, made a new pin and bushing from stock bolted it all to gather and put the radiator and hood on drove it around the lot and said now for the bad part! The cost for repairs is $72.00. I said what and he said is that to much? I paid the bill went home plowed the garden thinking a bout how good the tractor drives.
