Assuming you got the front mount distributor; I'd say, maybe, the spring on the bottom of the coil isn't making good contact with the concave headed brass screw in the distributor. If you got the chinese almost right aluminum backing plate under your points; trash it and get a regular steel one like the original. I had one in my '48 8N and couldn't get a decent spark until I replaced it. Use good quality ignition parts. there are numerous posts on here with the item numbers you need for distributor components. Look through Bruce (VA)'s 75 tips for help. Good luck.
