When we first got it, it had the differential out of it due to no oil. At the time that was fine as we bought it for the engine as we thought our old one had a cracked block which turned out not to be the case. Long story short, we found the parts we needed, fixed it up, and the first time I decided to plow the garden with it, I made the first pass and as I looked behind me, couldn't see where I had been due to the blue fog. I ran it 2 or 3 years to the point where it was starting to foul the plugs on a regular basis so I tore it down overhauled it which has been at least 25 years ago. It's still running strong. I added the roof on it about 10 years ago as I was mowing 30 acres for an elderly neighbor that had it in clean and green and wanted to keep the sun off as much as possible. I even thought about replacing him one time but decided not to and haven't regretted it since. I wanted live pto and hydraulics so I went out and bought a tractor that had it on it.
So now we have one 8n (front mount) with a wagner loader on it, Smokey which gets the 3 pt work put to him and two others of another color

Today's Featured Article - Madison's County - by Anthony West. Philip Madison has been a good friend of mine for quite some time. He has patiently suffered my incessant chit chat on the subject of tractors for longer than I care to remember, and on many occasions he has put himself out, dropped what ever it was he was doing, to come and lend a hand cranking handles, or loading a find onto a trailer. Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects. ... [Read Article]
