Gary w adams........you do know that the 8N engine has 2-types of dizzys, don't you??? The weird 4-nipple frontmount (points = 0.015") and the more common looking 5-nipple sidemount (points = 0.025") In either case, replace yer BAD condenser. BAD condensers have about 1-min runtime and then about 1-hr of cool down time.
And fer yer info, ittza 2-bolt, 15-min job to remove the weird 4-nipple frontmount and change and adjust the points (0.015") on the kitchen table. Just un-snapple yer capple and letter dangle. Installation is a reverse of the installation ...except... finger start yer 2-bolts and install yer rotor. Now rotate yer rotor until the OFF-SET drive tang fits into the camshaft OFF-SET drive slot. Using the OFF-SET scheme, the dizzy is always in time. Now tighten yer 2-bolts and re-snapple yer capple. Simple, eh?
Remember to "polish" the INVISIBLE corrosion from between the points (0.015") after installation. I clamp a clean $1-bill between the points and pull. Iff'n yer really cheap, tear a strip from HEAVY brown paper grocery sack and use that. ........Dell, yer self-appointed sparkie-meister
