The vast majority of ARPS/Dearborn plows attached to the rear axle and are mechanical lift using a cable and pulley system attached to the 3pt lift arms - no hydraulics. The plow frame simply hangs off the front axle on cables and the axle is free to pivot independent of the plow. The plow is raised/lowered by raising/lowering the 3pt arms which pull the cables attached to the front of the plow.
The Dearborn 19-80 universal frame attached to the bottom bolts on the transmission and had a single front mounted hydraulic lift cylinder which was powered off the tractor test port. It was raised/lowered using the quadrant control lever and required chaining down the rear lift arms when in use. When the control lever is moved to the top it sends oil out the test port to the cylinder causing it to extend and raise the plow. Fabricating a similar frame is pretty easy if you can weld.
