The tire store must have overinflated the tube after patching. When it let go it peeled the outside of the rim back like a banana. I had left the inner rim bolted to it and every place there was a bolt stayed as it should. between the bolts the rim peeled back from the tire. In one place it blew out about 6 inches. elsewhere two or three inches. I tried to hammer it back into shape with no luck. Gonna try heating it with my torch and hammer somemore. As you guys suggested, I might have to take it to a welding shop and see if they can reshape and repair a spot that actually blew through. Hard for me to believe 30 lbs of air would do this but that's their story and they are sticking to it.
