Its better to keep your starting system in good condition and avoid jump starting.A fellow here tried to jump start a late model tractor out in the woods.A friend found him pinned under the rear tire.The tire pinned his head to the ground.The loader dug in and stopped the tractors full weight from getting on him.He survived with an arm broken in 3 places.He must have had a boost battery and jump cables.He boosted the tractor in gear and it came close to killing him.A 30.00 new battery would have avoided this.I saw a battery explode on an 8n years ago when the owner applied the 12v battery directly to a 6 volt battery in the tractor.
