It's sounds like you tractor maybe running too lean. But what about the spark? Is it a fat bluish spark? If it's not, that could be your problem. If you spark is good, make sure that you don't have any air leaks around the intake manifold and at the carburetor attach flange. Make sure that your mixture is properly adjusted also.
