Steve.........clever. Way back when, we used horse drawn dump rakes that you were foot dumping (peddleing) up and down to create windrows as the horse pulled you across the meadow. Then you had a longtooth wooden buck rake to slip along under the windrow. Then to the haymow with pulley operated clamshell grapple to raise it up into the barn loft where it was slid back on a trolley and dumped and packed. Theres many a story about those old haylofts and hormones. (grin).........the tired-out Dell, from reading about your warm afternoons project PS......old haying equipment is cheap at auction and eazier on the wife too (what a trouper)
