, I am no expert, I assume you removed the distributer when you replaced the defective coil.??? It is possible to install it wrong on a very worn shaft, there is a toung and grouve that should match up,If it is installed wrong you will be 180 degrees out, and you will never get proper timing. (12 oclock is where 6 oclock should be )
