Charlie:Ihave also had a problem w/Mesquite.Bought a farm on which The saplings had been mowed to the ground for many years.Being unfamiliar with that fact I rented a backhoe in order to tackle the three and four inch trees.I was amazed it the root size and have concluded that these trees may have been mowed the same before finally being left to develop.I am saying this because I decided to dig a few samples of the saplings. To my suprise these tiny trees,3/8" diameter came out of the earth with roots 12 and 15 feet long with a three inch diameter. The mowing had never hindered the root development.I had intended to purchase or build an root plow such as the special ones seen advertised in some farm papers. The three point style you asked about. Before digging I had even purchased a 1959 900 Case tractor on steel in anticipation of using that machine to go get em.Have since decided to bring my backhoe from my other farm and dig out these tiny trees with the fifteen foot tap roots. However the local folks tell me that if you are able to sever and cut off the root at least 10 " below the surface it will kill the tree.I also made a mistake and had several large trees bulldosed out before I witnessed how beautiful the wood grain is in mature trees. Have never seen any other wood that is comparable.Just passing this along as food for thought.Sorry to have been so windy.

Or the thump of your clothes dryer? Maybe the engine of your car? You hear those sounds every day, and you don't think much about them, do you. I can think of a few common, ordinary sounds in my daily life, too.
