You've got the distributor 180 degrees out. Put your finger in the hole in the front cylinder and bump the motor until it blows a lot of air, that means you're on the compression stroke. Then line up the timing marks on the flywheel under the little window in the bell housing. Then you can turn the distributor or pull it out and turn it around to get #1 in the right position. It doesn't really matter, just as long as you know to time off of #4. It will sure screw up the next guy to work on it, though.
