Kraig - I have a 9N with a six inch horizontal crack in the block behind the carb. Two years ago I rebuilt the engine anyway and then repaired the crack with three layers of JB Weld. The engine just started weeping antifreeze from the crack again so I put in some stop-leak and it seems to be ok now. If I had to do it again, I would take the bare block to a weld shop and have them heat the block and weld the crack. Used 9N blocks are hard to come by. My two cents worth. Greg
