I purchased my 47' 8N in May (a relative passed away). I have a front mounted snow blade with the frame mounted under the tractor. It uses a hydraulic cylinder to lift the blade. When I first had the tractor in May, I removed the frame. I never did try out the plow but did notice that the hydraulic cylinder had a good deal of fluid come out of it (at the relief valve) when I was moving it around (manually, by hand... what a job that was!). In any event, I just remounted the frame and set up the plow for use this winter. HOWEVER, THE HYDRAULICS ARE NOT WORKING. I bush hogged all summer with the rear hydraulics working fine. I disconnected the hydraulic hose at the front cylinder and fluid is being pumped up there.... Ideas on what the problem may be? This is a very heavy 6' plow but I know that the previous owner (my wife's uncle - deceased) successfully used this every year. Is the cylinder bad? Perhaps the relief valve? I was messing with it in the rain tonight and now my 8N is spending it's first night in the rain since I bought it... :-(.... in any event, the snow clouds will be brewing soon so all guidance is welcome!
