1st of all, NEVER-NEVER-NEVER try to stop a turning pto shaft by hand, gloved or not. Would you put your gloved hand in by the radiator to try stop the fan??? Try to think what would happen if your glove got caught on a rough edge of the spinning shaft. If any you of want to continue to do this at least use your nonwriting hand. Use a board or something similar if you need to test this. Sorry about the rant but we read about this too often and could lead to less than satisfactory results. Now the problem at hand so to speak. The shaft can continue to spin for several reasons: oil drag, wrapped discs, improperly adjustments and no or bad pto brake, all of which in and of themselves may not be serious but in combinations can lead to hooked up machines to operate when the lever is in disengaged position. The bottom line is to BE CAREFUL and if there is need for concern get help. DON'T GET HURT, Dale, any questions, call 920 295 3278

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
