The idea of running a loader off a crankshaft driven pump as opposed to off the PTO or the tractors own hydraulics seems like a good idea. I have driven a "Grey Fergie" with a loader that worked off the tractors own hydraulics, the trouble is that you cannot "creep" (into a heap of soil for example ), as when you dip the clutch, the hydraulics stop. They are a bit frustrating compared with a tractor with independant hydraulics.
