I bought my first ferguson, a TO-20, back in 1980 a few years after I got out of the army. since then I have bought and sold 17 old ferguson and ford tractors and I can say without a doubt that none of those machines ever had a bad coil. I am not doubting what you say. I guess I have been very lucky. I made my comment based on my experiences with these old machines.
