Those 44's have an oddball size hub, you can't buy a 15 inch wheel to fit them. Here is what I have figured out over the years. A 44 standard and a 30 standard both use exactly the same front end with the large hubs EXCEPT the 30 uses 15 inch wheels with the large hole and bolt pattern, try and find a set of them. Also the old Massey self propelled clipper combine used those same wheels, find a set of them, old late 50's buick used 15 inch wheels that will bolt right on except they are about 5 inches wide, also Pontiac wheels from the early 60's will bolt on but the hub hole need to be reamed out a little. Welding a set up will work also. I pull a 44 and wanted to get the front down and put space saver spares on a set of clipper combing wheels I had rat holed and it didn't drop it far enough. So I just installed a 30 Standard front end, that dropped the front 5 and 1/2 inches, now I got it where i want it, only problem it weights about 80 LBS more that the narrow, but I always needed to hang front weights any way. Good luck with your project!!
