there are different pressure ranges used with the same housings and disc, ie 900#,1200#,1600# i've seen them get mixed up more than once especially with re builders,the light weight out of a 135 will work in a 175 but won't hold up,the difference is the size springs used on the main clutch and the thickness of the belleville spring used on the pto clutch,if yours slips without pulling the engine hard enough to nearly stall it something is wrong with the pto clutch,as for the mp never run a 175 with one but run 275 with one that had to be run in low to pull the disc never worried about shifting to high nor did it give any trouble not saying we were right in doing so

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
