It's got 2 things going on with the steering. The leak has been going on for a good year or so. The lack of power steering is new.
Like I said, I gotta do some checking before I do anything. Pull the reservoir off after draining, etc... Planning to try doing some work on it tomorrow.
The pump was replaced 2x by the dealer, and honestly I'm not impressed. The first pump lasted 25 years or so, the second 5 and the one on it now is maybe 5 years old. I don't think they ever did anything to flush out the old oil with metal shavings in it. I've had the reservoir off before and there were shavings. They also mixed oils. One time they filled it with perma tran which is what we run, and the last time they put in ATF. Made a nice muddy looking oil. I drained and refilled a couple times and it's been better, but it's always been loosing some oil to the engine too.
