That's cause you're in Oz. A z134 rear seal has screws that can only be removed from INSIDE the oil pan.., and IIRC, the upper AND lower shafts in the tranny have to be slipped out of position to get the seals and bearings out , which means the steering housing has to come up out of the way.... only guys I know who pulled that off lately is 2 tractors and Dan S?.... if you can do all this in 5 or 6 hours each... did you see my post on tearing into the 23c again? You can mend those too I presume? hummmm... arrange a 'tour'? .. with a camper full of tools? ... travel the continent, one fergie after another all summer, reasonable rates, so we can cover your ticket... I'm calling Quantas... you need another holiday in the states... my shout....

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
