Hi Brad, Very likely causes are a failed small end bush or a big-end bearing. Turn the engine in the direction of rotation until number three piston starts to go down. When it is an inch or so from the top stop. Try and push the piston down by hand. I suspect that you will be able to push it up to 1/8" before it stops. If this is the case you will need to remove the sump (oil pan) to gain access to either and to be able to remove the piston if the BE journal is damaged. Check the condition of the crank journal thoroughly. DavidP, South Wales.
