I was spraying with the TO35 today, when it suddenly died. It wouldn't turn over, but my starter has a flat spot so sometines I have to give it a sharp thump to get it to turn over. Before I tried , I opened the hood and checked gas. It was half full, so not out of gas. Closed the hood and tried to start it. It turned over and started but died again within 5 seconds. After that it wouldn't turn over or start again. I noticed the amp meter didn't jiggle like it normally does when you turn the key. I also noticed there wasn't any clicking at the starter, even if it doesn't turn over it always clicks. Seemed like the battery had died. Hook up the truck to jump it. It didn't do any good an sound like it was trying to bog the truck down and suck all the battery. Still no movement on the Amp guage.
The wiring is old - would a short circuited wire cause this type of problem? Would a dead battery cause this? Any ideas on the problem or best way to problem shoot.
