Jeff If you get to the reservoir and fill it and still have a problem (asuming the belt is not slipping), here is something you can take a quick look at. If your front steerign assembly is like a 420 it will have the 90 degree gear box on top of the front vertical pedistal. If so the 1010 may have a worm gear in there like its predicessors. If so you can easily take the top off the box and look inside. Mine was full of steel filings because it had been driven for ever without any oil in the box. After overhauling the box, my power steering came to life. Take the 1010 owners advise first since I am surmising. PS If that is a 35 loader and you are saying the vlaves are mounted on the left side as you are looking at the tractor from the front, that is where my 35 loader shows them to be mounted - to valves for a power bucket and one valve for the trip bucket.
