I’m with you JDJIM. My father and I have said for 20 years that the 4440 would make everyone forget about how great the 4020 was/is...and he started farming with 2 4020’s (one of which he still uses everyday) back in the 60‘s! I have logged about 5,000 hours in the seat of my father’s ‘79 4440 pulling everything from a NH 489 haybine to chisels and disks to 12-row (30”) planters and cultivators. In my opinion, the availability of the 540 pto is the key to this tractors versatility. In short, it is the perfect size for almost any farm task. The 4440 is Hall-Of-Fame material even more so than the 4020.
