No substitutes please, if at the last resort you haven't located the real thing, you may roll up a single coil of 1/8 inch diameter solder around the stud and use that. Soft metal lubrication is required to reach proper torque on the nut. A steel or copper washer will interfere with achievable stud stretch and static fastener holding force. A good idea to retorque after a few thermal cycles to insure against leaks for a good long time to come as well. They do still make them, and there are posts with links to them in here as well, I just don't have it on file to hand out, sorry.
