If I understand correctly, how the syncro-range transmission was designed, they ALL had the 3rd rev--and for that matter, 4th. I think the only real change was the elimination of the third notch in the shifter quadrant. If you want a REALLY "hairy" (& scary) reverse, figure out a way to access the 4th rev--should give you something like 15 mph!!!!!!-- (John Deere designed the quadrant specifically to prevent this.)
