TX JIM,I put a new JD pilot bearing in when I did the clutch. I lightly tapped it in until it seated. The clutch disc is an aftermarket disc. I didn't think to check to see if it was warped out of the box. What happens when either of the two above are bad and would it relate to the apparent transmission problems that I now have? Yes the the starter has 12 volts to it. This tractor started fine only when disengaging the hydraulics by a screw-in pin on the pump. I am going to check and see if the starting problem is there - maybe a broken pin etc.
