I would take a knowledgeable person with you to look the tractor over. check the drawbar hole, three point arm balls, clutch pedal for wear. ask for any repair records, wearing a seat out is more than 7000 hours. My father bought one brand new in 1972 for 14000 bucks, it was a power shift and it was a great tractor. like others have said you have to keep the throttle up over 1500 when using them . but that tractor is far better than a 4430 QR. Your wife will luv ya for it with that transmission, its so easy to manuver. My wife will only drive the powershifts, espesially with a loader or the grain buggy. And to get a cab with air conditioning, well there is more cancer showing up all the time from sitting out in the sun. Maybe you can talk the guy into sharing the trucking cost. I would make the switch instantly. What do you buy for 10000 bucks now adays. not even a 4020. good luck

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
