Just finished putting new clutches in my early 3020D. Would definitely put in both clutches and upgrade to the newer button style clutch discs. Also would replace the rear main seal. You will need the special tool to install the seal correctly. If you can find a copy of Green Magazine July 2012, it has a great article on seal installation. Also check out the February and March 2012 for great articles on NG clutch replacement. These were VERY helpful for me even though I have all the JD and IT books. If you have an early 3020 like mine, I would replace the small flex hose for greasing the throw out bearing. Not sure if the late 3020's have that set up. Had my clutch shop set the clutch pack before picking it up. Buy a plastic pilot shaft tool for alignment from your clutch/brake shop. Mine was $6.
