The grill mesh/wire will need to be indented around where the bolts go through. The factory ones were but when you install new mesh it will hide the bolt holes unless you pry it back just far enough to get a bolt/driver and 1/4 drive ext in there. It wasn't a perfect world even back then. They did what they had to to make some things fit and so do we now.
